Interview With Bottle Poppin Pap & Joacquin'Jaybird' Richard
INTERVIEW
Starting from Albany, GA to doing shows in Overseas, Bottle Poppin Pap has come a long way. I personally know him, and the Hunger is Real.
(Jaybird)-How did you get started in Hip Hop?
(Pap)-Well, I started with just joking around with my cousin, Desmond "Lil 12" Graham, until we realize that we were actually good. We started a group called "Albany's Finest" and put out a mixtape locally to the schools. The feedback was great, so we decided to take it seriously.
(Jaybird)-Your From Albany, GA how is your music accepted there?
(Pap)-It is accepted well there. My songs are currently been played on the local radio and also Albany State University radio station.
(Jaybird)-There are so many people out right now trying to make it in the music business…What do you think determines who makes it to the top?
(Pap)-Honestly I believe that hard work and dedication is the key to being successful in ANYTHING. I know it sounds cliche' but that's what it takes. It takes long days and nights, little sleep, and no doubts that your goal will be met.
(Jaybird)-You have (2) mixtapes out right now “Da King Lives On” and “Where Do I Sign”…Do you think you get better with every mixtape you drop?
(Pap)-Most defiantly. Every song is better. Creative and hard work keeps me making new and exciting music.
(Jaybird)-What makes you different from all the others trying to walk the same path as you?
(Pap)-My mindset. Period. My mindset is success, therefore it will be. I want it and nothing will stop me but me. There's no doubt in my mind that i will make it. Also, I wont sell my soul just to be famous. None of my spiritual or moral values will be compromised for dollar signs.
(Jaybird)-You probably hear it just like I do, but the artist of today always claim to be the greatest of ALL TIME…What do you think is the difference between the artist of today, and the ones from say 10 years ago?
(Pap)-Mannnnn..I think the major difference is context of songs. Rappers these days are really just looking for that first hit. They dont care about their music containing substance. Long as its somebody buying it, they will say anything to get paid.
(Jaybird)-Do you consider yourself to be a underground rapper?
(Pap)-Yes, to a certain extent. My career is taking off pretty rapidly. I have two videos, articles, interviews, and shows lined up. Also, late February/early March, my music will be available on Itunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, etc.
(Jaybird)-IF you could choose any mainstream rapper to colab with…Who would it be?
(Pap)-It would have to be T.I. He's almost the only person I can see myself making a good wholesome song with.
(Jaybird)-So who are you currently banging in your cd changer in the New Ride I heard you just bought?
(Pap)-LOL. Well, besides me, i would have to go with T.I, B.o.B, and J. Cole.
(Jaybird)-So this question can cause major debate amongst a lot of people but who do you think is The BEST rapper ALIVE right now and why?
(Pap)-Honestly, without any doubt, I am the BEST rapper ALIVE. The reason I say this is because I make my own music. No disrespect to anyone but if I thought i wasn't the best, then I wouldn't be doing it. I think Great, therefore I AM GREAT.
(Jaybird)-Any last words, shout outs you wanna give to the people?
(Pap)-I would like to think God for every blessing, thus far. My family and friends that's supported me from day 1. I'm here and "CAN'T KNOCK THE THRONE"
*Support the "Movement Of the New Generation of Talent"*
